If you actually sit down and think about it,
the Internal Combustion engine is an extremely inefficient way
to provide the power for a car. The majority of the energy
provided by the fuel provides heat and this is wasted. If this
isn’t removed quickly then this causes the engine to become so
hot that the parts melt! |

If you look carefully and ask around a fair
bit then flat glass can be found from any antique or specialist auto
glass shop. A good source of these can be found in your yellow pages. |

Car Problems Top Ten
It’s all very well leaving things to get done at the last minute
in the house but with the car it can get not only very expensive
if left to the last minute but also very lethal!
The Vehicle Maintenance Council inform us that
80% of all cars need some maintenance carried out on them and
these fall into a Top Ten of all potential areas of complaint.
1. Brake parts can be a real problem and excessively worn Brake
parts can be deadly. If left to the last minute not only can it
be dangerous but very expensive if not treated earlier.
2. Worn out and no longer functioning wiper blades for the
Windscreen. Don’t wait until it’s too late and you suddenly lose
all your vision in the rain and blades are faulty!
3. Faulty lights both front and back. Check them regularly to
make sure they work at all times.
4. Check all the filters in the car for Oil, Air, Gas, fuel,
transmission and other filters. These when checked regularly can
increase the cars performance tremendously.
5. If left to rot etc, Worn Spark Plugs can cause waste gases
and actually increase the exhaust transmission. Not only that
but they can cause the engine to run poorly.
6. Faulty and corroded Battery Cables leading to eventually a
worn out battery.
7. Faulty Fan belts and rotten hoses can affect the alternator,
power steering, air conditioner. Replace these before it becomes
too late AND expensive.
8. Neglected Cooling System: Periodic servicing of the cooling
system helps prevent deterioration of radiator or heater core.
9. Leaking Shock Absorbers: Worn shocks or struts affect ride
control and shorten tire life.
10. Damaged CV Joint Boots: These rubber boots protect the
critical CV joints that deliver power to your wheels. They
should be inspected regularly and replaced as needed.
